Former UFC double champ Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor was arrested today in Miami on charges of robbery/strong-arm and criminal mischief.

According to the police report, McGregor and a fan were simultaneously leaving the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami Beach as LIV nightclub inside the resort was closing at 5:00 a.m. Eastern. As the fan attempted to take a photo, McGregor slapped the victim’s phone away, stomped on it multiple times and took it with him.

McGregor is being held on $12,500 bail. He was arrested just before 6:00 p.m. tonight.

It appears that the UFC star has really dodged a bullet here because his probation stemming from his escapades in Brooklyn last year just ended in the past week as he completed his community-service obligations. Otherwise, he would most likely be looking at jail time.

This is another stain on McGregor’s resume that’s filled with cash galore, but not much in the way of victories or anything positive for his reputation.

Nevertheless, I doubt gets in the way of anything the UFC has planned for its prime cash cow later this year. Dana White recently shot down rumors of a July 6 bout against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone and added that McGregor’s return would likely come in the fall.

Since those statements from White, reports have come out that McGregor refused to accept co-main event status in the Fourth of July Weekend show. Cerrone doesn’t take lengthy layoffs and has made it clear he won’t wait for any fighter or payday if it keeps him out of the Octagon for an extended period of time.
