Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa is the +175 favorite to win the Heisman Trophy after throwing eight TD passes without an interception in three blowout wins.

The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas has Alabama as the -120 favorite to win the College Football Playoff (risk $120 to win $100 on the Tide). The next-shortest odds belong to Clemson (4/1), Ohio St. (+450), Georgia (7/1) and Oklahoma (20/1).

Even though we’re only three weeks into the season, I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to state that this is the most explosive offense we’ve seen in Alabama football history. And with apologies to A.J. McCarron and Joe Namath, this is undoubtedly the best QB Tide fans have EVER watched wear the Crimson on Saturdays.

Tua Tagovailoa is now the +175 favorite to win the Heisman Trophy at the Westgate. He’s completed 72.0 percent of his passes for 646 yards and eight TDs without an interception. If Nick Saban’s club hadn’t been throttling its opponents by such wide margins, those numbers could probably be doubled. Tagovailoa has also run for 93 yards and one TD on 14 attempts. He has a 19/2 career TD-INT ratio.

I went into complete degenerate mode on Saturday and decided to play Alabama in the first quarter (-7) and the first half (-14.5), in addition to taking its team total ‘over’ in the first quarter (10.5 pts.), first half (24.5) and game (46.5) in a 62-7 win at Ole Miss.

All of those wagers have been perfect in all three ‘Bama games to date. And until something changes (like those results or a major injury or two), I suggest making all of those plays on the Tide each week.

In its updated odds to win the SEC Championship Game, offshore betting shop 5Dimes.eu has Alabama as the -200 ‘chalk.’ The next-shortest odds belong to Georgia (+250), LSU (8/1), Auburn (10/1), Mississippi St. (15/1), Missouri (30/1), Florida (40/1), Texas A&M (40/1) and Kentucky (50/1).
