Lawler-Cowboy back on for UFC 214

Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone is a +130 underdog for his UFC 214 showdown vs. ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler, who is the -160 ‘chalk.’

Let’s try this for a third time.

Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone vs. ‘Ruthless’ Robbie Lawler. The guess here is that it’s going to be worth the wait — and then some!

Cerrone and Lawler are two of the most popular fighters in UFC history. Both men put on epic fights. Both throw hellacious head kicks with awful intentions.

This duo was first slated to collide at UFC 205 last November at MSG in NYC. Lawler had to pull out, though, citing the need for more time off after losing his welterweight strap to Tyron Woodley at UFC 201 in Atlanta last August.

They were scheduled to meet again on the main card of this Saturday’s UFC 213 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Cerrone had to pull out this time (for the first time in his career) due to a blood infection.

Now the much-anticipated scrap will take place on the main card of UFC 214 later this month at Honda Center in Anaheim. Sportsbook.ag has Lawler listed as a -160 favorite, leaving Cerrone as the +130 underdog.

In other UFC news, Gilbert Melendez will make his return at UFC 215. ‘El Nino,’ the former Strikeforce lightweight champ, will drop down to featherweight to face Jeremy ‘Little Heathen’ Stephens.

Also, ‘Shogun’ Rua will get a rematch against OSP in the UFC Japan headliner in September. OSP obliterated Rua in 2014 on the road in Brazil where he needed only 33 seconds to knock out the former UFC light-heavyweight champ.
