Stephen Orr Spurrier won the Heisman Trophy and married the Homecoming Queen in the 1960s at the University of Florida. He won the ACC title as a coach… at Duke! He led his alma mater to seven SEC championships and one national during his 12-year tenure. He is the all-time leader in wins at UF and South Carolina, trailing only Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant in SEC victories. SOS, at the age of 70, is still going strong.

For the first time in his coaching career, Steve Spurrier used the shotgun in a 52-20 blowout win over FSU to deliver the Gators their first national title in school history.
