P. Diddy facing serious charges after attacking UCLA coach

Rap mogul Sean Combs, better known as P. Diddy, was arrested Monday on the UCLA campus after an incident with an assistant coach. P. Diddy’s son Justin is a defensive back for the UCLA football team.

According to reports from TMZSports.com yesterday and this morning, UCLA assistant Sal Alosi was intensely berating Justin during strength-and-conditioning drills Monday while his father was watching from the sidelines. Following the workout, P. Diddy allegedly barged into Alosi’s office and a verbal altercation quickly turned physical.

As many as five or six UCLA interns were able to remove P. Diddy from the office area to the weight room at the Acosta Athletic Training Complex. At that point, Combs allegedly grabbed a kettlebell and swung it at Alosi and the interns without making contact.

When campus police arrived, Combs was arrested and eventually transferred to LA County Jail, where he was released last night on a $160,000 bond. Combs is facing three charges of assault with a deadly weapon, one count of making terrorist threats and one count of battery.

Alosi reportedly had a ripped shirt and scratches on his face. Alosi is best known for tripping a Miami Dolphin player along the sidelines on a special-teams play while a member of the New York Jets staff back in 2010.

UCLA head coach Jim Mora Jr. released the following statement: “I’m thankful that our staff showed the level of professionalism that they did in handling this situation. This is an unfortunate incident for all parties involved. While the UCPD continues to review this matter, we will let the legal process run its course and refrain from further comment at this time.”

The training complex has security cameras throughout the building, so the entire incident is believed to be on video.
