Pettis injured, so Barboza will face Myles Jury

Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis mocked the injured Khabib Nurmagomedov with the following tweet just one week ago, “karma is a bitch hope that disability pays well!!!”

Well, the former lightweight champion got that right. Karma is a bitch.

This time, it worked against Pettis, who suffered an elbow injury that has forced him to withdraw from his UFC on Fox 16 showdown against Myles Jury in Chicago.

The promotion quickly announced Pettis’s replacement as Edson Barboza, who will take on Jury on July 25.

Barboza is coming off a unanimous-decision loss to Michael Johnson, but he has won five of his last seven fights. Jury, who is 15-1 overall and 6-1 in the UFC, is coming off his first career loss to Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone by UD.
