Nate Diaz returns to the Octagon in Phoenix as a healthy underdog vs. Rafael dos Anjos.

Phoenix is in for a treat Saturday night when the Ultimate Fighting Championship brings a stacked 12-fight card to town for UFC on FOX 13: Dos Santos vs. Miocic.

Nate Diaz is a generous underdog to Rafael dos Anjos in the co-main event. Diaz will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since a contract dispute went nowhere despite his efforts. In his last fight 13 months ago, the perennial lightweight contender destroyed Gray Maynard by first-round KO.

Speaking of coming back from an extended layoff, Stefan ‘Skyscraper’ Struve will take on Alistair Overeem in a heavyweight clash. The seven-foot Struve, a talented Dutch kickboxer with outstanding submission skills, has been out nearly two years since losing a great fight to Mark Hunt by fourth-round KO.

Shortly after the loss, in which Struve sustained a broken jaw, he was diagnosed with a heart disorder. There was a time in which many felt the condition would force Struve to retire. However, after receiving medical clearance, he was scheduled to face Matt Mitrione a few months ago, only to have an episode on fight  night that resulted in the bout being cancelled.

While warming up less than an hour before the fight, Struve had some sort of panic attack. Nevertheless, he has been cleared again and will face Overeem, who will have a major strength advantage and all sorts of motivation. Overeem has lost three of his last four fights and has gone a disappointing 2-3 since signing a lucrative deal with the UFC. He has been the victim of first-round KOs from Ben Rothwell and Travis Browne, and also lost via third-round KO to Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva. The ‘Reem has wins over Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir.
