How much have Las Vegas oddsmakers cooled on the defending national champions? Quite a bit.

When the Golden Nugget opened its lines for Games of the Year back in June, Jimbo Fisher’s team was favored by at least 14 points in every game.

Back in August, the Westgate SuperBook had Florida St. favored by 17 vs. Florida in its regular-season finale at Doak Campbell Stadium on Nov. 29. As of Wednesday morning, the Seminoles were only 7.5-point home ‘chalk’ against the Gators at Sportsbook.ag.

FSU has been cheating death all season and it had to rally once again to pull out a 30-26 win this past Saturday at Miami. The ‘Noles took the cash as 1.5-point road favorites to improve to 3-7 against the spread.

UF found a way to lose to South Carolina, resulting in Will Muschamp’s dismissal the following day. A decade ago, Ron Zook was fired by Florida but finished out the regular season. The Zooker led the Gators to their first win in Tallahassee in 18 years.

Two seasons ago, Muschamp captured the biggest win of his tenure when UF downed FSU by a 37-26 count at Doak Campbell. Can he remain unbeaten in Tally and take a Gatorade bath on his way out the door? We shall see.

For the 2014 edition of the Iron Bowl, Westgate has Alabama as a 9.5-point home favorite vs. Auburn. The Tigers have been eliminated from contention in the SEC West.

Ole Miss is a three-point favorite vs. Mississippi St. in the Egg Bowl. The Bulldogs need to beat the Rebels and hope for an Auburn win in Tuscaloosa in order to make their second appearance in an SEC Championship Game in school history. They lost to Peyton Manning and Tennessee back in 1998.

Other Week 14 lines include Georgia -11 vs. Ga. Tech, Baylor -8.5 vs. Kansas St., Oregon -14 at Oregon St. and Ohio St. -18 vs. Michigan.
