News broke around 3:00 p.m. Eastern that the sexual assault complaint filed against Florida quarterback Treon Harris was withdrawn by the female accuser.

Harris’s attorney quickly let the media know that the suspension of his client had been lifted. Florida head coach Will Muschamp confirmed that minutes ago in a statement released by the university.

The important part of the statement is this: Treon has been reinstated to the team, but he will not play Saturday.

Florida acted quickly late Monday morning in suspending the true freshman indefinitely. He was banned from campus but allowed to continue taking courses online.

Harris saved the day for the Gators in Knoxville last Saturday. Trailing 9-0 when he was inserted into the game with less than a minute to go in the third quarter, Harris promptly led UF on a pair of scoring drives to spark his team to a 10-9 win at Tennessee.

He was expected to be named the starter on Monday, but Jeff Driskel will remain the starting QB for now.

Florida will host LSU on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern. Most betting shops have the game as a pick ’em with a total of 47.
