Friday’s Tip Sheet & ESPN 1100 Gridlock interview

–I was on ESPN 1100 in Las Vegas with Mitch Moss today. We touched on a number of games for Week 3 of the college football season. You can listen in by clicking here.

–I broke down Friday’s doubleheader in college football with this preview posted at VegasInsider.com.

–Here’s my column from earlier this week for The Linemakers.

–Disregard the info on Oklahoma St. QB JW Walsh in the column for The Linemakers. That situation has changed as Walsh had foot surgery today and might be out for the rest of the regular season. He will miss at least 6-8 weeks.

–Many pundits felt that Rutgers coach Kyle Flood was on the hot seat coming into the 2014 campaign. However, a 2-0 start has netted Flood a raise and a two-year contract extension.

–Toledo had already lost a pair of starters (QB Phillip Ely and CB Cam Cole) to season-ending injuries, and now we have to add starting DT Marquise Moore to that list. Moore started nine games in 2013 and had 26 tackles and a pair of sacks.

–Miami has ruled out WRs Stacy Coley and Rashawn Scott for Saturday’s home game vs. Arkansas St. The Red Wolves are dealing with a slew of injuries to key players. Their best RB (Michael Gordon) is ‘out,’ their best defensive player (LB Qushaun Lee) is a question mark and their best WR (JD Mckissic) is also ‘questionable.’ The Hurricanes are favored by 16.5.
