According to a Fox Sports report, the Feds are in Tallahassee. And this time around, Willie Meggs isn’t around to help.

A federal inquiry has been opened into Florida State’s handling of the Jameis Winston case. Winston was accused of sexual assault, but the local DA (Meggs) decided not to press charges while the Seminoles were in the midst of the national-title picture for the first time in 13 years.

FSU did go on to capture the national championship over Auburn behind the play of Winston, who also won the Heisman Trophy.

On April 16, the New York Times published this scathing piece on the inept investigation into the Winston case.
