–With Alabama offensive coordinator Doug Nuessmeier bolting for the same job at Michigan, he replaces Al Borges on Brady Hoke’s staff. Nick Saban has hired Lane Kiffin as his new OC to replace Nuessmeier. We’ll see how this works out. One thing is for sure: Layla Kiffin is going to look stunning in crimson on Saturday’s in Tuscaloosa.

–Bobby Petrino has hired Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham to take the same position at U of L. Grantham’s job security at UGA was under question and many found it surprising that Mark Richt retained him following the 2013 campaign. Richt wasted no time in finding his next DC, hiring Florida St. DC Jeremy Pruitt away from the Seminoles. Pruitt, who used to be on Alabama’s staff under Saban, did a spectacular job with the FSU defense in his one season as DC after Mark Stoops left Tallahassee to take the head-coaching job at Kentucky.

–According to a report from CBSSports.com, former Florida QB Tyler Murphy is going to transfer to Boston College. Murphy has already graduated from UF so he can play immediately He will compete for the starting job left vacant by the graduation of long-time starter Chase Rettig. BC head coach Steve Addazio recruited Murphy to UF in 2010 when he was on Urban Meyer’s staff.

–Rutgers offensive coordinator Ron Prince is reportedly leaving RU to take a job on Jim Caldwell’s staff with the Detroit Lions.

–With James Franklin leaving for the Penn St. job, the Vanderbilt recruiting class is rapidly falling apart.

–UF head coach Will Muschamp announced Monday that starting RB Matt Jones won’t participate in spring drills due to surgery on his torn meniscus sustained in a 17-6 loss at LSU on Oct. 12. On the flip side, QB Jeff Driskel is expected to be 100 percent for spring practice to learn new OC Kurt Roper’s offense that looked dynamic in a Chik-Fil-A Bowl shootout against Texas A&M.
