Georgia looks like a delicious ‘dog again tonight

Is there a team outside of the RPI Top 100 that’s playing better basketball than Georgia right now? This space says the answer is ‘no,’ especially for our purposes.

Mark Fox’s team has won six of its last nine games, going 8-1 against the spread in the process. The reality is that the Bulldogs should’ve won outright in eight of those nine games.

However, UGA couldn’t get a call when the refs swallowed the whistles at the end of regulation in an overtime loss at Ole Miss. Also, replays appeared to show B.J. Young committing a traveling violation before his go-ahead bucket in the final seconds lifted Arkansas past UGA, 62-60.

Vanderbilt is playing improved basketball, too. The Commodores will take on Georgia tonight as six-point home favorites (as of late this morning) at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville.

UGA has already won outright at Tennessee, at Texas A&M, at South Carolina and had the aforementioned near-misses at Arkansas and at Ole Miss.

I’m all over Georgia as an underdog again tonight and might also get a taste of the money-line payout that’s in the plus-220 range (risk $100 to win $220). Don’t be shocked if Kentavious Caldwell-Pope leads UGA back to Athens with a victory.
