–Now that Donald Trump has hired Katherine Webb, can people please back off of Brent Musburger? Jeez!

–For those that missed it during Monday’s BCS Championship Game, ESPN cameras consistently made their way to Webb, the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron. Musburger commented on how quarterbacks get all the gorgeous women and then Twitter erupted with criticism of the legendary broadcaster. Webb and her family felt it was unnecessary when ESPN issued an apology for Musburger’s remarks on Tuesday.

–The last time Musburger made remarks about a young lady looking hot in the stands, Jenn Sterger became a household name. She parlayed Brent’s comments into jobs with SI.com, ABC and Versus, not to mention modeling appearances in Playboy and Maxim.

–Judging by this interview posted to Deadspin, I’m not sure how happy McCarron is about his lady’s new popularity. HOWEVER, you have to LOVE McCarron’s twitter response to Aaron Murray that can be seen from that Deadspin link after scrolling down a touch.

–Sportsbook.ag. has Alabama as the plus-250 ‘chalk’ to win a third straight national championship next season. The next-shortest odds belong to Oregon (5/1), Ohio St. (6/1), South Carolina (12/1), Texas A&M (12/1), Georgia (12/1) and LSU (15/1). The Gators have 20/1 odds.

Friday Update: Sports Illustrated announced today that Webb will appear in SI’s Swimsuit Issue.
