Ole Miss suspends Marshall Henderson indefinitely

Ole Miss star guard Marshall Henderson has been suspended from the team indefinitely for a violation of team rules. In other words, there’s a strong chance that he tested positive for week or other substances.

Henderson led the Rebels to a win over Florida in the SEC Tournament finals this past season. Despite playing horrible in the first half of Ole Miss’s 5/12 showdown vs. Wisconsin in the NCAA Tournament, he caught fire in the second half to help his squad past the Badgers.

The Rebels lost a heartbreaker to LaSalle in the Round of 32.

Due to his brash on-court antics, Henderson was a polarizing figure throughout the 2012-2013 season. He led the SEC in scoring with a 20.1 points-per-game average.

Florida’s Scottie Wilbekin was issued a similar suspension a few weeks ago. Look for both players to miss at least the first three games of the year, possibly more.

Update: According to the Wall Street Journal, Henderson was pulled over in May for speeding and had cocaine and marijuana on him
