Westgate SuperBook’s Updated Games of the Year

Sportsbook.ag has Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa installed as the +180 favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. Also, his Crimson Tide is favored by 14.5 points in the Iron Bowl at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas has updated its Games of the Year lines that can be found below.

Let’s start with my Gators, who are three-point home favorites on Oct. 5 vs. Auburn. Both teams remain undefeated going into Week 5, with Auburn hosting Mississippi St. on Saturday while UF takes on Towson at The Swamp.

UF’s other games on the Westgate’s board include: +11.5 at LSU, +10 vs. Georgia and -17 vs. Florida State. Those underdog numbers represent a downgrade of Dan Mullen’s team compared to the last Westgate Games of the Year numbers.

That could be due to the season-ending injury to QB Feleipe Franks, but UF’s passing game has looked much better with Kyle Trask under center.

Trask took over late in the third quarter down by double digits at Kentucky in Week 3. All he did was lead the Gators on a 19-0 fourth-quarter rally to win a 29-21 decision for their 16th straight victory in Lexington since 1986. Then this past weekend, a dropped pass by Jacob Copeland is all that prevented Trask from throwing for more than 300 yards, an achievement Franks couldn’t pull off in 16 starts for Mullen.

Clemson has only two remaining games left that are lined. The Tigers are 31.5-point home ‘chalk’ to the Seminoles, who are 2-2 straight up and 1-2-1 against the spread. Dabo Swinney’s squad is a 24.5-point road favorites at South Carolina.

Alabama gets an open date after hosting Ole Miss as a 37.5-point home favorite. The Rebels’ QB Matt Corral is ‘questionable’ with an injury to his ribs sustained in a 28-20 home loss to California last week.

On Oct. 5, Nick Saban’s club will venture to Kyle Field in College Station as a 17.5-point road favorite at Texas A&M. Other ‘Bama lines include -11.5 vs. LSU and -23.5 at Mississippi St.

Back in August, the smallest ‘Bama spread was -13 at Auburn. Even though AU is off to strong start, the updated line for the Iron Bowl has the Crimson Tide -14.5 at Auburn.

As I noted in a column for MajorWager.com (by the way, you can see all my by-lines over at Major Wager by clicking here or just clicking MajorWager.com up at the top of page in the middle here at BE Sports) two weeks ago, LSU and Wisconsin’s stock has soared since the season started.

In fact, LSU senior quarterback Joe Burrow now has the second-shortest odds (+350) to win the Heisman Trophy behind only Alabama signal caller Tua Tagovailoa, who is the +180 ‘chalk’ at Sportsbook.ag.

LSU was -6.5 to the Gators back in the summer, so that number has been inflated by five points. The Tigers are 14.5-point road ‘chalk’ for an Oct. 19 date in Starkville with Mississippi St.

Then on Oct. 26, Ed Orgeron’s club is a 12.5-point home favorite vs. Auburn. The Tigers then get two weeks to prep for their trip to Tuscaloosa, where LSU beat the Tide 9-6 in overtime in 2011. However, Alabama has beaten LSU eight times in a row since then, allowing the Tigers to score an average of merely 9.0 points per game.

Finally, LSU is favored by 15.5 over Texas A&M in what’ll be a monster revenge game (the Aggies beat LSU in seven OTs in College Station last year) in Baton Rouge in the regular-season finale.

Wisconsin is a 10-point home favorite vs. Sparty on Oct. 12 at Camp Randall. The Badgers are 3-0 both SU and ATS with blowout wins at USF (49-0), vs. Central Michigan (61-0) and vs. Michigan (35-14).

Paul Chryst’s team is a 10.5-point road underdog for an Oct. 26 trip to Columbus, where Ohio St. could be meeting the Badgers in a preview of the Big Ten Championship Game.

Wisconsin is an 11.5-point home favorite vs. Iowa on Nov. 9, while the Badgers are 7.5-point road ‘chalk’ at Nebraska the following week. They are 18.5-point home favorite vs. Purdue on Nov. 23, and then close the regular season favored by 12.5 at Minnesota.

Other notable Games of the Year include Oklahoma -10.5 vs. Texas, Washington -3 vs. Oregon, Oregon -10.5 vs. Washington St., Notre Dame -1.5 at Michigan, Oregon -4.5 at USC, Washington -5 vs. Utah, California -1 vs. Washington St., Georgia -7.5 at Auburn, Georgia -17 vs. Texas A&M, Washington -9.5 vs. Washington St., Ohio St. -10.5 at Michigan, Oklahoma -14.5 at Oklahoma St. and Kentucky -4.5 vs. Louisville.
