Am I stoked that I got down on the Gators at 60/1 before Kerry Blackshear Jr.’s decision? You damn right I am! On that note, let’s point out that Cleveland State transfer Tyree Appleby is taking an unofficial visit to UF this weekend. Appleby averaged 17.3 points and 5.6 assists per game for the Vikings last year.

Now Appleby would have to sit out a season and would then have two years of eligibility remaining. You can see his talent and speed in this highlight captured from Eric Fawcett’s Twitter account:

And if you’re a Gator fan and don’t follow Fawcett on twitter, you sure as hell should. (@Efawcett7)

According to Evan Daniels of 247Sports, Appleby is drawing interest from the likes of Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, Tulane, Texas Tech and Iowa St. Other reports noted Pittsburgh as being interested, too.

The Gators had a built-in edge for Blackshear based on location since he is from Orlando. If that matters in this case, the Razorbacks are the ones with a location advantage. Appleby hails from Jacksonville, Ark.
