Alabama has taken another hit at the linebacker position. Starting sophomore LB Anferenee Jennings underwent surgery on his knee earlier this week and won’t play vs. Georgia in Monday’s finals of the College Football Playoff in Atlanta.

Jennings sustained the injury in this past Monday’s 24-6 win over top-ranked Clemson in the semifinals at the Sugar Bowl. The Crimson Tide covered the spread as a three-point favorite.

Jennings was one of the catalysts in the revenge victory. He recorded five tackles, one sack and two tackles for loss.

For the season, Jennings has 41 tackles, one sack, five TFL’s, two forced fumbles, four QB hurries and two passes broken up. He missed a pair of games in September.

Alabama is already without LBs Shaun Dion Hamilton and Dylan Moses.

As of early Wednesday afternoon, most books had Nick Saban’s squad installed as a four-point favorite with a total of 45. The Bulldogs were +170 on the money line (risk $100 to win $170).
