4th-seeded ‘Bama favored to win 5th natty on Saban’s watch

For Ohio St. fans still crying about not making the College Football Playoff ahead of fourth-seeded Alabama, go away. You never had a case — period!

You lost to an unranked Iowa team by 31 points. Alabama? It lost once at Auburn by 12 points and never trailed by a double-digit margin until it fell behind AU by 12 in the regular-season finale.

As a matter of fact, Ohio St. spent good chunks of four of its six games against decent competition playing from behind. The Buckeyes trailed for most of the first half in Ann Arbor, nearly the entire game at home vs. Penn St., ditto at Iowa and ditto at home vs. Oklahoma. (And I’m not even counting trailing Indiana at halftime of the season opener.)

For those that would now counter with, but Alabama only (blah, blah, blah, blah!). Whatever.

Here’s the deal with Alabama: It is favored by three over top-ranked Clemson in the semifinals. Also, it is the ‘chalk’ to win the CFP with future wagers. Seriously, what else do you need to know?

Right now at 5Dimes.eu, the odds look like this:

Alabama +182 (risk $100 to win $182)
Clemson +275
Georgia +355
Oklahoma +370
