5Dimes.eu has posted some early spreads for potential conference championship games.

As for the potential showdown between top-ranked Georgia and No. 2 Alabama in Atlanta on the first weekend of December, 5Dimes has Alabama installed as a 6.5-point favorite against the Bulldogs, who are off a 42-7 win over Florida in Jacksonville this past weekend.

UGA was tabbed as No. 1 last night by the College Football Playoff’s selection committee in its first ranking reveal of the 2017 season. Although I have Alabama No. 1 and UGA No. 2 in my Power Rankings, I don’t disagree with the committee.

The committee judges current resumes and to date, Georgia has played the tougher schedule and has the superior resume. As for my Power Rankings, I’m simply ranking teams who I would make favored over another in a neutral-game tomorrow. Alabama’s strength of schedule will improve greatly in the coming weeks with a home game vs. LSU and road dates in Starkville and Auburn.

Therefore, don’t be surprised if Alabama overtakes UGA as its strength of schedule improves.

5Dimes also lists the Crimson Tide as a -160 favorite to win the SEC Championship Game, while bettors can take the field for a +120 return (risk $100 to win $120). Remember, if Auburn wins out, it will win the SEC West.

Speaking of the Iron Bowl, 5Dimes has Alabama favored by 10 at Auburn, while Sportsbook.ag has the Tide as a 10.5-point road ‘chalk’ for its trip to Jordan-Hare Stadium.

As for the ACC Championship Game in Charlotte, 5Dimes has two lined games for potential matchups. Clemson is listed as a 4.5-point favorite vs. Va. Tech, while the Tigers are 6.5-point ‘chalk’ vs. Miami.

For the potential Big Ten Championship Game in Indianapolis, Ohio St. is installed as a nine-point favorite vs. Wisconsin.
