The odds for Friday’s TUF 25 Finale at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas started filtering out this morning. Michael ‘The Menace’ Johnson opened as a -120 favorite over unbeaten UFC newcomer Justin Gaethje, who was the lightweight kingpin under the World Series of Fighting promotion before signing up with Zuffa.

The odds have since moved up to -155, while the total is 1.5 rounds (‘over’ -165, ‘under’ +135).

Johnson is off a third-round TKO loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 205 in NYC at MSG last November. Before that defeat, Johnson brought to a halt Dustin Poirier’s four-fight winning streak with a first-round KO win.

Gaethje defended his belt successfully five times and it would be six if not for former UFC veteran Melvin Guillard missing weight in another bout. The win over Guillard was a non-title fight since the (once) “Young Assassin” couldn’t get down to 155 pounds.

The fight that’s standing out to me? I’m all about Ed Herman as a +160 underdog to C.B. Dollaway in the latter’s light-heavyweight debut. I made Herman a -150 ‘chalk.’
