Nunes out of UFC 213 headliner with illness

Amanda Nunes will not defend her women’s bantamweight strap tonight after being hospitalized after Friday’s weigh-ins.

According to multiple reports, women’s bantamweight champion Amanda ‘The Lioness’ Nunes is in the hospital with an undisclosed illness. Therefore, her second title defense against Valentina Shevchenko has been scrapped.

The main event will now feature Robert Whittaker versus Yoel Romero for the interim middleweight title.
