–California and Hawaii are set to collide tonight at ANZ Stadium in Sydney, Australia. The Golden Bears are heavily favored over the Warriors for this 10:00 p.m. Eastern kick on ESPN. This game will mark the start of the Nick Rolovich Era at Hawaii. The former QB for the Warriors is replacing Norm Chow after a dismal four-year tenure.

My pick on the total for tonight’s season opener.

My complete Cal-Hawaii preview of tonight’s game filed at VegasInsider.com late yesterday afternoon.

–The total was at 64 later yesterday afternoon, but that number has been increased to 66.5 points. Cal remains a 20-point favorite. You can monitor all the line moves for this game at the Westgate SuperBook right here.

Here’s my Pac-12 preview filed to VI earlier this week. I like UCLA and Washington St.’s season win totals to go ‘over.’

Rick Bozich shared my opinions on Kentucky, Western Ky. and Indiana to his audience in that area. You can check it out here if you wish.

My Big Ten East predictions

My preseason Top 25 Power Rankings.

–When I saw the news of UNC’s Larry Fedora bringing in former Illinois coach Tim Beckman as a volunteer assistant, my first thought was: “What the fuck is he thinking?” First off, Beckman is a total clown, a terrible coach and an individual with many questionable actions on his resume. Apparently the power players at UNC were thinking the exact same thing as me. Beckman stepped down from his volunteer gig yesterday. In other words, he got told to ‘see ya beat it’ with the quickness.

–Several programs named starting QBs in the last 24 hours. Those include Auburn (Sean White), TCU (Kenny Hill), Wisconsin (Bart Houston), Stanford (Ryan Burns) and Va. Tech (Jerrod Evans).
