–After going 4-0 on last week’s UFC on FOX 16 card, I’m ready to cash some more winners. However, I’m not super-high on anything like my five-unit suggestion on Edson Barboza last weekend and we’re not going to bring home 11.6 units of profit like at UFC 189. Nevertheless, I like our chances to come out a winner with a bunch of low-risk selections. Here they are…
1-prop bet for Ronda Rousey to win by TKO (one-half unit for +250 payout).
2-Rousey prop to win in Round 2 (one-half unit for +515 return).
3-Shogun Rua-Little Nog UNDER 1.5 rounds (1.5 units for +145 payout).
4-Shogun Rua prop to win inside the distance (one unit, +110).
**5-Stefan Struve-Big Nog UNDER 1.5 rounds (one unit, -145).**
6-Bigfoot Silva over Sao Palelei (one-half unit, +180).
7-Rafael Calvacante over Patrick Cummins (one unit, +145).
8-Rousimar Palhares over Jake Shields (one-half unit, +180)****
**Note: scratch #5 play if price goes to -150 or more expensive.
****Note: WSOF 22 play (see explanation below).
–There’s also a World Series of Fighting card Saturday night on the NBC Sports Network. The main event is for the promotion’s welterweight strap, with former UFC contenders Jake Shields and Rousimar Palhares squaring off in Las Vegas. Shields is a -220 favorite, leaving the Brazilian leg-lock specialist as a +180 underdog. I think Palhares is worth a small wager at those generous odds.
–Quote from bantamweight kingpin T.J. Dillashaw on a radio show Tuesday: “[Dominick Cruz] hits like a little bitch.”
