Michael White will bring two of his assistants at La. Tech to join him at the University of Florida. He’s holding his third and final assistant job for Dusty Mays, another La. Tech assistant who is hoping to land the head-coaching job left open by White in Ruston.

Darris Nichols and Jordan Mincy will join White in Gainesville. Like White at Ole Miss, Nichols and Mincy were overachieving point guards in their collegiate careers at West Va. and Kent St., respectively.

According to the Gainesville Sun, Anthony Grant will join Billy Donovan’s staff in Oklahoma City. The status of John Pelphrey is unknown but the Sun reported that he cleaned out his office at the UF practice facility on Thursday night. Pelphrey and Grant both spent 10 seasons as assistants to Donovan at Florida.

White will be introduced at UF’s new coach at a press conference on Monday. The time of the presser has yet to be announced.

In other college hoops news, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports that former Seton Hall guard Sterling Gibbs, who averaged 16.3 points per game last year, has visited Pitt and Ohio St. and will visit UConn next week. North Carolina St., VCU and Baylor are also under consideration. Gibbs will be eligible immediately.

Florida transfer Eli Carter, who will also be immediately eligible, is considering a host of schools including N.C. St., St. John’s, Long Beach St., Clemson and Seton Hall, among others.
