Why I like Kansas St. -2 vs. TCU in KC

Texas Christian has been abysmal against RPI Top-100 teams this year, losing 14 times in 17 games.

On the flip side, Kansas St. has quality wins galore, including a season sweep of Oklahoma, in addition to home wins over Kansas, Baylor, Iowa St. and Oklahoma St. The Wildcats have neutral-court wins over Texas A&M and Purdue.

K-St.'s Marcus Foster scored 15 points in this past Saturday's loss at Texas.

Bruce Weber’s squad had won back-to-back games before their regular-season finale at Texas in which it had to play without Nino Williams, who averages 11.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. Williams had to deal with a personal matter but is set to return today at the Big 12 Tournament.

K-St. was also without Jevon Williams (4.5 PPG, 3.0 RPG) for disciplinary reasons against the Longhorns, but he’s set to play vs. TCU as well.

These teams split a pair of regular-season encounters with both teams winning at home. When K-St. had to go to Ft. Worth, leading scorer Marcus Foster was just returning from a three-game suspension and was relegated to a reserve role, playing only 17 minutes and scoring just five points.

I’m all over K-St. -2 in this spot!

In other Big 12 news, Kansas probably won’t have forwards Perry Ellis or Cliff Alexander at all in Kansas City. Gamblers should check the status of West Va. star guard Juwan Staten before placing any wagers on Baylor vs. WVU. Staten’s status is very iffy at this point.

I like Iowa St. to win this event and you can get the Cyclones for a +350 payout at a number of shops.
