As of 3:20 p.m. Eastern, most betting shops had Kentucky installed as a 2.5-point home favorite over Florida in tonight’s critical SEC showdown at Rupp Arena. The total for ‘over/under’ wagers was 130 or 130.5.

The Gators haven’t tasted defeat since losing on a buzzer beater at UConn on Dec. 2, winning 16 consecutive games. However, they haven’t won in Lexington since Joakim Noah, Al Horford and the Oh Fours left Rupp with a victory in 2007.

Here’s a few more quick hitters and links for UF-UK:

–John Calipari owns an incredible 81-2 home record during his UK tenure. Cal is 8-2 against the Gators

–Jerry Tipton of the Lexington Herald-Leader has this commentary on Kentucky’s hopes of releasing its horses tonight.

–The Herald-Leader’s Mark Story compares the UK and UF programs since 2000.

–Pat Dooley of the Gainesville Sun thinks this year’s Gators look similar to another UF squad.

–ESPN’s Andy Katz reported earlier this week that Michigan St., Texas, North Carolina and Florida will participate in a three-city tour where each school will face the other in 2018. The cities are L.A. (Staples), NYC (MSG) and Chicago (United Center). What a stroke of genius!

–Since Jan. 9, my college basketball picks have cashed at a 65-38 clip (63.1%) for 24 units of profit. If you wish, you can check out today’s package here.
