5Dimes opened Johny ‘Bigg Rigg’ Hendricks as a -290 favorite today for his March 15 fight vs. Robbie Lawler in the main event at UFC 171 in Dallas. Lawler is the +210 underdog (risk $100 to win $210).

Hendricks had won six consecutive fights before dropping a split decision to Georges St. Pierre in a fight that BE Sports scored 48-47 in favor of Hendricks.

In his second tour of duty in the UFC, Lawler has won three straight fights, including a recent decision win over Rory MacDonald. Lawler has hooked up his betting supporters with nearly six units of profit in his last two underdog spots.

‘Ruthless’ was a +300 underdog against MacDonald and he beat Josh Koscheck as a +280 ‘dog.

The UFC on Fox 9 card is underway right now. One play I recommended in my report about GSP yesterday was ‘under’ 2.5 rounds in the Chad Mendes-Nik Lentz fight. I made that suggestion when the ‘under’ price was -130. That number has climbed up to -160 now.

If that price makes you hesitant, there are cheaper options that in my mind are the same bets (I think Mendes wins with an early finish). You can take a prop bet with Mendes to win inside the distance at a a -150 price, or you can back Mendes to win by KO at -130.

Another prop that I think is worth a shot is Joseph Benavidez to beat Demetrious Johnson by five-round decision for a monster +360 return (risk $100 to win $360). And yet another is for Urijah Faber to beat Michael McDonald by three-round decision (+175).
